Manuel R. Merjil has been with The Sonoma Index-Tribune since 2004 and has worked in a variety of positions, including Executive Editor of Impacto Latino magazine and as SONOMA Magazine’s first Executive Editor and most recently, as National Marketing Executive.
He attended the University of Texas at El Paso where he majored in Public Relations and Advertising and has more than 30 years experience in sales/client services related areas.
As an active member of the Sonoma Valley community he was involved as a mentor with the Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance for nine years, and served on the roundtable committee of the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts. He is a founding member of Sonoma GayDar and the Sonoma County Mariachi Festival. Currently he serves as a board member of the Sonoma Valley Fund and a committee member of the Sonoma Valley Hospital Capital Campaign.
